Location

Kairophos needs a usable location while in use to calculate local sunrise and sunset times. Open iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services and allow Kairophos while using the app. Polar locations can have days without a sunrise or sunset; Kairophos labels those states instead of inventing a time.

Alarm authorization

When Kairophos asks for alarm access, choose the appropriate Apple permission. If an alarm is not appearing, review Kairophos under Settings and open the relevant sunrise or sunset event’s Customize view to confirm that the alarm is enabled.

Customize a reminder

Choose Sunrise or Sunset, open Customize, select a lead time and bundled sound, then enable the alarm. Sunrise and sunset reminders are independent and can use different settings.

Preview music

The bundled musical choices can be previewed from an event’s Customize view. Personal audio can be imported into the app for local preview. Imported audio is currently not qualified for scheduled AlarmKit playback; scheduled playback remains qualified for the bundled choices.

The Light We Saw — planned feature

The Light We Saw is planned for a future Kairophos app update and is not available in the current public app. When released, it will let you choose a sunrise or sunset photograph, add a confirmed local time, an approximate location, and an optional Instagram handle. The app will create a clean sharing copy and remove source GPS and other unnecessary photo metadata.

When released, you will be able to share independently through the native iOS share sheet or offer a photograph to Wingtip Studio with separate limited-republication permission. You will review the prepared message and tap Send in Mail; opening Mail alone will not be delivery or acceptance. Submissions will be reviewed by a human editor, with no automatic Instagram publishing or unmoderated public gallery.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm Location Services and Kairophos access in iPhone Settings.
  2. Confirm alarm access and that the event’s alarm is enabled.
  3. Reopen Customize and preview the selected bundled sound.
  4. If the issue continues, email wingtip.studio@gmail.com with the iPhone model, iOS version, and a short description. Please omit passwords, payment details, and sensitive health information.
